So we were off to Silverstone for the 4th July, racing in a combined grid with TTRS, VW Golf , Z4 Cars together with a total of 7 BMW E30'S in our group, was due to rain ALL day but in fairness it was only really qualifying and part wet for 1st race around noon. Out of 54 Cars i qualified 46th but 3rd out of 6 in my Green Class.
Race 1 i was doing rather well in slightly slippery conditions and Ken Briddon,Rob Gamble and I was pretty much together after 3 Laps, it was only on the penultimate lap that i overtook Richard Ibrahim in the E36 323i that i was off line for the Hairpin and had a 90 Degree Spin allowing him back through for 42nd place, my finish was a reasonable 43rd out of 60 starters !!
Race 2 came a faster dryer circuit and midway I settled into a good battle with Maciek Kaszczuk where he eventually passed me on the 5 th Lap,only for me to take the position back again within the next Lap ....it was nose to tail at some points!! My finishing result was 40th out of 58 starters .
So a good day was had and all sessions finished with no Technical issues really apparent so thats good , although i still have that annoying drone on right hand turns, which we believed was a rear wheel bearing but upon inspection I now think it may actaully be the rear exhaust box hitting the side of the Boot floor!! The Car does also still seem to be heavily eating the Rear Pads , so thats being sorted now via an exchange Caliper!
